Top 10 websites in the UK

I get clients wondering what Facebook and all this social media is about – they often don’t think it is for them. I’ve tried selling it to you, I spoken about it, analysed it, I don’t always like it, but the facts are now speaking for themselves.

Facebook has overtaken Google as the most visited website in the US… it not far behind Google in the UK. Check out this link and see for yourself http://www.hitwise.com/uk/press-centre/press-releases/social-media-alert-june-2010/, I am not going to go on about it too much… But Facebook is here to stay.

So how can you use it? It comes down to choice and offering that choice to your customers or clients. If they use Facebook and most now do, then you can offer them a route to information about your company, if you are spending £300 on Google Adwords now you can spend less on Google and more on Facebook, you get a wider audience and better value for your money.

I can hear many saying it’s not for them as they sell ‘special widgets’ or provide specialised services to high end corporates, but that is no longer good enough. The reason is that you can focus on a voluntary, motivated, and interested group of people through Facebook. You can refine and zero in on your target audience very precisely via Facebook.

However in my book the real beauty of Facebook is that it is never Spam – when you create your Facebook community people join you voluntarily, attrition is very low, people join and leave as they like (they hardly ever leave) and compared to the traditional e-Newsletter they nearly always read what you have to say.

Looking at this another way – in the world of telesales – when cold calling – that most dismal of all sales efforts – the rate of success was virtually close to zero, only the occasional positive reaction would keep the thing going. However cold Faxing worked a treat – you’d write a letter and within it you’d say I will be calling in a day or two. Most recipients of such a fax would a) read it and b) be aware of your pending phone call – vastly increasing the rate of recognition and sales success when you did make the call.

It’s the same with Facebook – you’re constant pushing out a stream of information to prospects, rather than the once a month newsletter – invariably those prospects will have heard of you before they join your community, invariably those prospects will learn about you over time and invariably when you do make the sales pitch your chances of success will be greater.

What’s the delay – Facebook cannot be overlooked. Website like www.domus-villas.com get 80% of their visitors from Facebook – you website could do the same. Please contact us for more information.
