High Society, Blogs & Facebook

I cannot resist writing a little about what I am doing for High Society, it only takes a minute to do, but I am keen to eck out as much leverage as possible from all this.

High Society provide staff for any kind of event from corporate launch to private wedding, they provide the waiters and waitresses (keywords) and manage the staff at these sorts of events. So far, fairly basic. They have a news section on the High Society website where Staff can read up on a staff news. However the complaint as always was there is not enough news… what can I do?

My answer was social networking… this news area is aimed at staff… it is aimed at getting people interested in what other people are doing. This is a prime candiate for FaceBook.

So my approach is a two pronged approach:

  1. Face Book – I have started a group (network) for High Society this allows other staff to join if there are on Face Book, the added advantage is that at anytime any member of the group can see what all the other members are doing and also see all their friends, the power to me is that if High Society use this tool right FaceBook will handle all the ‘social’ activity High Society could ever need.
  2. Blog – Yes one of these, I figured because FaceBook can integrate with a Blog and High Society needs a more adaptable news area for staff a Blog is the way forward.

Now I am on dangerous ground here, Fergus Seccembe the owner and manager of High Society does not completely understand what I am doing, nor do I. But this has to worth a shot and when it goes pear shapped we can revert back again.

Watch this space for my announcement when this will all be read, and as always comments and ideas really welcome.
