Schema for Website Design
I just wanted to share with you the very briefest outline for what Schema for Website Design is. It’s been around for years, it is also a ‘Google’ thing. But does it do?

Usually below every search result on Google, whether on a Phone or Computer there will be an extra chunk of something from Google. It might be like the example above, just a breakdown of a website or it might be a Map, some Images or Videos, or indeed something else like a Job Listing or Weather Information.
The short answer is that all these Snippets or Informational Sections on Google are mostly drawn together by the Information Google hunts down from Schema Code.
Schema for Website Design is the additional code we use on a website that Google uses right now to index specific information. The obvious example is a Product, the name, price, description and image can all be enclosed in an extra bit of Schema code that specifically tells Google exactly what the product is. Google can then display this where it wants to.
Testing for Schema
If you want to run a quick test on your website for Schema – it’s very easy to do… Just visit:

Just type in your website address and see what happens… You might get a better result if you Type in an Article page, Blog Post or Product page, as opposed to the Homepage.
What can you add Schema to?
A growing list of uses is the answer to this… Google is adding new Schema all the time. It even hardly worth my while e=listing examples here, but you can visit https://schmea.org for an Official List of Schema available and you can also visit https://developers.google.com/search/docs/guides/search-gallery for examples of Google’s uses for Schema.
Everything from Books, Recipes, Reviews, Products, People, Places, Activities, Events, you name it… all can be listed on Google’s feature snippet section.
Hot Areas for Scheme for Website Design
For us here – the biggest area for Schema right now is Voice SEO, this is coming and Google is working on it in a major way. The key with Voice SEO is the following:
– Speakable Schema – this allows Google to know that your content should be recognised by Google
– Q and A – Questions can be asked in a lot of different ways with only one answer.
– FAQ – another form of questions and answers
– Customer Feedback, allowing customers to ask questions and also allowing customers to answer other customers questions
As you can see it’s not straightforward – there is more to even something as simple as an FAQ page on your website. But the results are worth it.
