Working on the Move – Holiday WiFi
Totally doable in this day and age and a great lot of fun it is too. I’m always a little apprehensive about going on Holiday, leaving home, getting to be with the family, we English do it in style with houses in France, Spain, and all over the world, vacations in exotic places and not so exotic. We know how to have a good time.
Apprehension, because we’re leaving work, we’re wondering what will happen, will the car get us there, will the children behave. But it is my belief now that we’re more organised than ever before. So whereas I used to say, you need to get away from it all, these days it’s more a case of enjoy the best of all world. A little sneaky hour spent checking email, or answering queries from co-workers or clients is actually fine.
Partly, the improvement in relations between Holidays and your email is down to better communications, Mobile Phone Companies have at last been able to put the stopper on excessive charging around Europe and every where from Camp-site t0 5star villa now has Wifi – even in France – making the days of hunting for a bar with the right connection a thing of the past.
Lastly there’s that reserve knowledge that if you cannot ‘connect’ then neither can anyone else in the family and that brings even more joy to the holidays… a little bit of connection to the outer world is appreciated and thankfully much much easier than it used to be.
