New Product – Internet Consulting

3rd October, 2012

This is a Service Announcement:

We are today launching a new product to allow client to pre-book discounted development time of our services.

The rates are:

1 hour – £60
5 hours – £240
10 hours – £320
20 hours – £400
(prices exclude vat)

What’s covered? – EVERYTHING
Whether you want us to development a website, improve your SEO, advise on content, write copy, change a page, upload something to Facebook, issue press release or advise your team on anything internet related, we’d be happy to do it.

What’s brought this about? – TIME MANAGEMENT
There are three main reasons for moving to a pre-purchased hourly rate for SOME of our services:

  1. Hugely expanding complexity of service provided, whether consulting for an iPhone App, or building a mobile site, or investigating competitors, running marking campaigns or building microsites, our areas of expertise are growing and we want to be able to share that information with you.
  2. Expanding business – as NCompass gathers more clients – so the amount of time spent on a phone increases, overheads increase and our cost base goes up, we have found as much as 4 hours a day is spent on the phone just helping people… We’re always happy to fix, repair, or change something we’ve done wrong, but increasingly clients are requiring help that is simply outside our remit.  We’re happy to do it, but we need to cover our costs.
  3. Larger projects – many projects now involve more people, a wider variety of services and a larger network of collaboration, this particularly effects us because we have to pull in different people with different skill sets, whether you need a copy writer, database expert, SEO guru, or Adwords Manager or App developer – we have access to all these people.  But they all need to be paid for.
What happens next? NOTHING
For the moment Clients will not be charged anything extra – but if they want to make use of the substantial discounts on future development time then they can.  It’s up to you.
We will advise from time to time that a client will get better value for money if they opt to pre-purchase hourly rates.
What we will also do now however it track the smaller jobs or requests that we often do for free for clients.  Depending on how much resource is used up then we will advise clients that they need to either pay an hourly rate or that they can pre-purchase time at a discount.
Your comments are welcome
As a final footnote please feel free to add your comments to the bottom of the post, we always welcome feedback whatever the nature and while something like this could prove controversial equally we hope you understand that everyone’s time costs money.
