The DotCom Bubble 2
I think the time is coming to wonder if we are in a .DotCom Bubble, everything is looking dicey financially, yet Microsoft want to buy Yahoo for £44bn.
Facebook is as popular as ever, E-Bay, Skype, Amazon and other websites are still making waves. So what is going on.
The truth is twofold, the importance of the company website remains the key to any marketing strategy, along with everything else, the second issue is about web designers in general, they are a rare commodity.
There are no BT’s of the web design world, there are no companies employing armies of website designers, instead the best web design companies all seem to be small, maybe 30 people strong at the most.
This means that overheads, ‘green issues’, value in numbers are hard to keep down, it also makes the industry fickle as people move around and all this in turn makes web design expensive.
The biggest issue for today’s .DotCom Bubble is the rising cost, but maybe this time web designers will have conditioned companies to accept their costs better.
